I first learned about and experienced John F. Barnes myofascial release as a patient. I had been diagnosed with frozen shoulder by an orthopedic doctor.

He referred me to a clinic for physical therapy. The therapist who treated me was practicing John F. Barnes myofascial release.

After experiencing the great results and how great I felt, I knew this was something I had to do. It was a “calling” to me and I needed to change my career. I quit my job and enrolled in school so I could practice John F. Barnes myofascial release. I wanted to help other people as I had been helped.

In 2006 I enrolled in the Massage Therapy Program at Rockford Career College in Rockford, IL.
I graduated from the Massage Therapy Program in 2007, maintaining a 4.0 grade point average, and earning my massage therapy diploma from Rockford Career College’s 750-hour program.
I am licensed by the State of Illinois as a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) and I am Nationally Certified under BCTMB. I have completed a Skill Enhancement Seminar / 40-hour Clinical Internship at the Sedona, AZ Myofascial Release Treatment Center, Therapy On the Rocks, with John F. Barnes.

While attending the Massage Therapy Program at Rockford Career College, I was employed as
a part-time Physical Therapy Aide at OSF St. Anthony Outpatient Physical Therapy Department in Rockford, IL.

I began my training by attending John F. Barnes myofascial release seminars while I was
a massage therapy student. I took my first seminar in 2007 and have continued to take John F. Barnes seminars every year. John developed myofascial release over 40 years ago.
He is a Physical Therapist (PT), Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), and Nationally Certified (BCTMB). He is an international lecturer, author and authority on Myofascial Release and has been a keynote speaker at the American Back Society Symposiums for over 25 years. I am  classified as a John F. Barnes Expert MFR Practitioner and have completed the following educational seminars and workshops:

In September 2010 I opened Brynwood Myofascial Therapy, LLC in Rockford, IL as the sole owner / practitioner. In May 2012 I was joined by a business partner who is a physical therapist and myofascial therapist. I do not practice any traditional massage therapy at my clinic.  I only practice John F. Barnes myofascial release.

I am a member of ABMP (Associated Bodywork & Massage Therapy Professionals). I am an Expert Myofascial Release Therapist.
